A yacht hull in primer under tenting inside a paint shed

Refinishing in Barcelona Β· tented work anywhere in the western Med

The finish is ninety
per cent preparation.

Nobody photographs the fairing. But a hull that reads flat from thirty metres in low sun was faired for six weeks before a drop of topcoat was mixed, and one that ripples was not. That is the whole job.

  • Fairing measured with battens, not eyes
  • Humidity logged every hour
  • Five-year finish warranty

What we do

Below the waterline to the masthead

What it costs

A number before you ring anyone

Refinishing quotes vary by a factor of three for the same vessel, mostly because nobody agrees what preparation is included. Here it is priced in the open: the fairing days are a slider, and moving them moves the total.

  • Fairing days priced, not buried
  • Dark-to-light colour change costed separately
  • Five-year warranty on the finish

Indicative price

β€”

Indicative only, with a floor of €12,000 β€” below that we cannot mobilise a tent and a crew. A firm quote follows a coating survey.

How we work

Four things that decide whether a finish lasts

01

We log the dew point every hour

Two-pack laid down when the substrate is within three degrees of dew point will fail, and it will fail after the warranty conversation has been forgotten. The log goes to the owner with the invoice.

02

Fairing days are on the quote

The cheap quote is cheap because it assumes twelve days of fairing and the honest one assumes thirty. Ours says which, so two quotes can actually be compared.

03

Nobody sprays over somebody else's primer

Not without an adhesion test. Inheriting an unknown scheme is how a five-year warranty becomes a lawyer's letter, and we would rather lose the job than guess.

04

The survey is sold separately

We will inspect a coating and tell you it has four good years left, which loses us a repaint. An inspection that always recommends a repaint is not an inspection.

β€œThree quotes, and theirs was the dearest by forty thousand until we noticed it was the only one that said how many fairing days were included. The other two rang halfway through asking for a variation. Four years on there is not a ripple in it.”

Domain for sale

varnisher.com is available

You are looking at a demonstration, not a real business. We built it to show what this domain could carry β€” the company, the stock and the reviews are invented.

  1. 1

    Make an enquiry

Tell us who you are and what you would use it for. It costs nothing and puts you under no obligation.

  2. 2

    Agree a price

We reply with a price or consider your offer. Most conversations are settled within a couple of working days.

  3. 3

    Pay into escrow

Funds go to a licensed third-party escrow agent, never straight to us. They hold the money until the transfer is confirmed.

  4. 4

    Take ownership

We push the authorisation code to your registrar. You control the domain, usually within a week; escrow then releases the funds.

The demonstration site is not part of the sale by default β€” but if you want it, say so in your enquiry and we will include the source.
